You add keywords and phrases that the search engines pick up. Up till last year, these played a major role in getting Search Engine Rankings. But recently, Google no longer paid attention to these. However, Yahoo and MSN still have a place for meta tags. However, title tags are still important in all the search engines.

For effective Title Tags, you should have phrases from inside your website with a maximum of 10 – 14 words or 60 – 70 characters. Use keywords, but always repeat keywords only with a word in between the repetition.

For effective Description Tags, use only a maximum of 30 words. Repeat your keywords here, but make sure you separate the keywords with words.

For effective Keyword Tags, use your keywords here. Also use misspellings and synonyms for your main keywords separated with a comma.
