There has been a recent shift in the SEO industry regarding content and indexing. Research into this area has probed onto what seems to be a new technology in the search engine algorithm termed as LSI. LSI or Latent Semantic Indexing, gives the crawler human text recognition powers. In other words, the crawler is able to place the content among it’s equals in niches by comparing the entire paragraph and not just a few words.
The algorithm as such cannot understand what it means, but it is still highly intelligent in finding related content on the internet.
So what are the impications of LSI?
Here are some tips to help your future SEO -
Earlier, I remember proxy flipping for $500 and more. But nowadays proxy’s don’t sell for more than $100 - $200. Content sites were in great demand and $50 for a small content site was not much to ask for. But the recent boom in the site flipping area as a huge make money online method has not only brought the value down, but the growing demand for quality.
Here are some tips to increase the value for sites
Attention all Wordpress users, I’ve a little tip that can seriously boost your search engine ranking postions. You can make more money online by just typing one sentance!
Go to your Design>Theme Editor>Single.php. There, edit the code such that “<a href=”yoursite.com”>Your Anchor Text</a>” comes after the content code. This will place an extra internal link to your blog. You can make this text small and align it to the right or to the left.
Smorty is a pay-per-post blog network that pays you to post on your blog. It’s one of the oldest pay-per-post networks and has a very good reputation.
Recently they have expanded with a larger network and attract a lot of advertisers in the network paying bloggers to blog.
They have also added a new feature called Digxa mini store link advertising. It’s similar to Kontera and can make some money online. It underlines relevant keywords on your site and showcases products similar to those and you get paid when someone clicks on them
Please note that the following post needs an intial investment for you to make serious money online.
Find quality designers. I’m talking about designer with past experience, those with good designs that get sold fast. Don’t buy designs from designers who take weeks to get their designs sold. Always check the authenticity of the designs. Buy these wordpress themes from them for $150-$200 per theme.
You can try and sell themes with full rights for a higher price and auction out links at the bottom for $40 - $50.
4 footer links - $160
Theme - $150
Total - $310
Profit -atleast $110
This is an awesome way to make money online. You just need to find the right designer. Or even better,
learn how to create your own graphic’s package and sell those. You can find work on elance or guru dot com.
One of the best methods to drive traffic to your site is through social networking. Building a list of friends on popular networks like Digg and StumbleUpon is difficult but you can make some serious money from these programs. Making money online with this traffic can be done only if you are ready for it properly. The number of visitors from the Digg frontpage is estimated to be around 50,000 uniques. If your server cannot handle this load, say goodbye to the days earnings.
Getting to the best social networks not only give you traffic but also excess exposure and large number of subscribers and you can also sell a few ad spots.
http://buzz.yahoo.com Yahoo Buzz has been my source for hot niches for a while. They have converted themselves into a Digg style service with Buzz Up links. They provide 14 different buttons for you to choose from and for your readers to publish your posts on Buzz. Yahoo Buzz gets better traffic than Digg in my opinion because of the exposure and the news appearing. Better traffic in the sense, better CTR. I estimate over 20K visits from the front page. Sure, Digg gives about 50K, but like I’ve mentioned, better CTR for Buzz.
Why don’t you give it a try?
If you tons of free time and you don’t mind mundane work, sure go ahead. But if you do have a job, then don’t bother trying it. It’s absolute crap. It’s a waste of money and time.
For every proper submission to a directory, you will get a backlink. But I would advice you to do some good content management and link building in that time. Directory farmed sites are not appreciated by Google. Content can not only give you longer advantages in higher indexed pages and more search engine traffic. In the long run, you will make more money online with content than links. With good content, you will get good links.
Something about a blog makes you feel secure. It’s mostly the feeling that you know that you will make money online with it. But a blog with no posts on it for a week is like a sinking ship. This is where content sites excel. Auto pilot earnings? You bet. Good content sites are like growing coconut trees. Plant the seed (content), water everyday (some commenting here and there, a bit of forum spam) and wait. The tree grows and as long as you turn back to it every now and then, you can be sure that it’s going to make money.
I’m stressing on the niche site market because of it’s potential. It’s a pain to see the slow visitor count and the low earnings for a while, but after a few months, you will notice the clear difference. Niche sites are where the future is. As a blogger grows in age, he will find that he has less time for serious money making online blogs. This is when he comes to a crossroad, blogs or niche sites? If he’s smart and knows what’s ahead, he will take the latter. You can make money online with niche sites. All you need is patience, a little work and good content.
Have you read the earlier post on Niche Site Marketing Progress? Make Money Online with Niche Sites!
I had some free time last week and I decided to make 2 more niche sites. Unfortunately, I had to pick out a few niches that were really distant to me. I got the articles written for me, but I had no way of marketing them. I just shrugged of the loss and I decided to sell the sites the next day. Guess what? I checked my Analytics the next day and found that the traffic was rolling in! I got excited and ran to the Adsense reports and there it was! A few impressions but an impressive CTR. Looks like the article tweaking was worth it after all! I went back to analytics and ran a few test runs with the keywords given there. It seemed that long tailed keywords worked better for those niches as well. I decided to try a bit of forums marketing for these sites today. I’ll keep you posted!
Niches that are not explored, even though the search volume is less, perform much better on a low budget. I haven’t spent anything on these sites except the Namecheap domain cost of $8.41 using the coupon SUMMERENDS for August 2008.
Don’t forget that Namecheap is giving out .info’s at $2.98 now!
When I started blogging, I used to try and get the best results for one or two keywords. I wasn’t getting the output for the work I did on my blogs. Then I started to understand why. When you usually search for something, you don’t just search for that word most of the time right? You search for a few words together right? That’s just it. Don’t focus on separate single keywords, use a string of keywords together. That gets you more traffic. My analytics stats show that I rank for 7 separate long tailed keywords.
You can use Wordtracker to get good long tailed keywords for your niche. Also. your statistics can tell you the long tailed keywords that you already rank for. Why don’t you use those keywords?
Read the earlier post about Google Indexing Flash
I had made a post earlier about how Google and Adobe were working together to get flash into the SEO stream. Google Search Evangelist, Adam Lasnik, has confirmed that even with the new development, the SEO system will still hold text has the higher priority.
This video is perhaps to calm down all the hues and cries over what would happen once flash starts to get indexed.
Over the last few weeks, I’ve posted about a lot of hot topics like Namecheap, Godaddy and Alexa . Doing a site index search , I found out that the highest positions were given to the posts with these keywords in the posts.
So, what can you do with this? If you want higher SERPs, have nice premium keywords in your content. Try to reduce the number of non keywords. Observations in your search engine results can get your better search engine results.
