Namecheap And Godaddy
As you might know, I’m a big supporter of Namecheap. I do have an account on Godaddy, everyone does. But even though the prices on Namcheap are not all that cheap, I’m attracted to Namecheap.
I thought that I’d do a In My Opinion Post on these two Domain Name Sellers.
So let’s get this started!
- Prices – perhaps the most important aspect. I’m happy to announce that Godaddy has cheaper domains (that are in demand). Namecheap has pricy domains but the coupons cut the prices to a spicy difference. Winner – Godaddy
- Service – customer service, reliability. Namcheap holds the fort down on this. It’s a slim difference, but IMHO Namecheap has a much better service rating in my books. Winner – Namecheap
- Design – I’m a sucker for looks. Godaddy and Namecheap are both great in their own areas of design. Namecheap has a great, brisk, business look that gets me going. Godaddy, however, brightens up the screen with soft green and a great picture of Danica Patrck (I’m a guy after all.. ). Winner – Godaddy
- Speed – when it comes to registering domains, Godaddy is slower than a turtle. Also, a lot of people complained about slow servers while buying .me domains. I’ve made a post about the slow Godaddy servers. Winner – Namecheap
- Usability – Godaddy is complicated for newbies. I myself found it extremely difficult to use it the first time. Namecheap, which is the service I used in the begining, is really easy to understand and manage. Winner – Namecheap
- Security – Namecheap provides SSL registrations free for a year and provides extreme privacy. Scandals on Namecheap are rare when it comes to domain selling. Godaddy has a lot of threads with “hate” written on it. Winner – Namecheap
- Domain Pushing – Simple two step process with only the username needed for Namecheap. The procedure on Godaddy is complicated. Winner – Namecheap
Please let me know what you think.
