There has been a recent shift in the SEO industry regarding content and indexing. Research into this area has probed onto what seems to be a new technology in the search engine algorithm termed as LSI. LSI or Latent Semantic Indexing, gives the crawler human text recognition powers. In other words, the crawler is able to place the content among it’s equals in niches by comparing the entire paragraph and not just a few words.

The algorithm as such cannot understand what it means, but it is still highly intelligent in finding related content on the internet.

So what are the impications of LSI?

1. Pages focused on a single keyword will be harmed seriously
2. Using different forms of the same keyword will help. (mug, jar, cup, vessel etc)
3. Moving on from 2 word phrases to 3 and 4 word phrases is necessary.
