What did you get banned for? You were VCCMatey, right? I always thought you were a pretty darn good member at DP. At least the posts I saw you seemed to have it together.

I got punked by Shoemoney (permanent ban) for starting a thread comparing his PR6 to John Chow’s PR3. I bet you didn’t get the profanity laden ban message like I did (see my blog post)

Anyway, at least you can go back and get all your PM’s and contacts, etc.. Mine are lost forever and I had several people I was dealing with over there but now all of them have switched over to my fourm. You’re more than welcome to come post on my forum (http://www.code4gold.com/forums/) until your ban expires. It’s not as big as DP but there are no scammers there and we don’t ban people for telling the truth.

A lot of members on forums were upset that in the begining the search engine was not picking up their best sites. No doubt that they are getting better.

Apparently Cuil was not quite ready for launch during the first day or two – many medium long tail queries did not return results at all, and even general queries returned way fewer results than they should have considering Cuil’s claims of having indexed so many pages already. They did improve somewhat afterward, however, and seem to be picking up more results and increasing relevance as more people have been testing out the engine.

In the long run, I hope they get things together and perform well enough to compete with the major search engines and then maybe do some advertising. I would like to see more serious competitors to Google in order to hold their power in check and encourage more transparency overall.
