In the first half of this year, Mianyang has witnessed a sound development trend of the tourism industry. The heavy rains have not prevented visitors from traveling in Mianyang. All tourism economic indicators have maintained rapid growth, and a brilliant transcript has been handed over.
The reporter learned from the Municipal Commission of Tourism Development on August 15 that in the first half of this year, the city received 34.6994 million domestic tourists, a year-on-yearincrease of 24.88%; the total tourism revenue was 35.593 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 24.91%.
“In the first half of the year, Mianyang’s tourism departments have made great efforts to promote the development of the all-for-one tourism industry, increased the promotion and marketing of tourism, and strived to improve the tourism service environment. A large number of tourists have been attracted to travel to Mianyang, which contributed a lot to our tourism market, especially during the period of Golden Week and other holidays.” said Tang Biao, deputy director of the MunicipalCommissionof Tourism Development.
According to the statistics of the Municipal Commission of Tourism Development, during the 16-day-long holidays of the Golden Week of the Spring Festivaland other three holidays―the New Year’s Day, the Tomb-sweeping Day and the May Day, Mianyang received 7,282,500 tourists in total, a year-on-year increase of 15.1%, accounting for 20.99% of the domestic tourists received in the first half of the year.The tourism revenue reached 2.966 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 16.8%, accounting for 8.33% of the total tourism revenue in the first half of the year.
In the first half of the year, with the in-depth implementation of the “Rural Revitalization” strategy and the continuous strengthening of the integration of agriculture and tourism, it has become a fashion to have holidays in villages and to experience the folklore. In recent years, various kinds of events have been rolled out, making rural tourism more popular and thus a top option for travelers.
According to statistics, 72 scenic spots of Mianyang have received 24.5604 million visitors in total, a year-on-year increase of 13.11%. The Flower City and Fruit Village of Anzhou District, a 3A-level scenic spot, has become the most popular scenic spot in Mianyang. Its comprehensive revenue ranks top, reaching 201 million yuan. In addition, nearly 30 wonderful tourism products such as the Peony Cultural Festival of Youxian District, Beichuan’s medicine-themed Magnolia Flower Festival, Yanting’s festival to pray to Luozu and another folklore festival to worship the God who taught people how to breed silkworm, the XianhaiDragon Boat Festival, the summer camp to visit the City of “Two Bombs”of Zitong County, have all attracted visitors from afar to experience the beauty of Mianyang’s tourism.
How to continue to prosper the tourism market in the second half of the year?
It is understood that at present, the Qiqu Mountain Temple of Zitong County is applying to bea national 5A-level scenic spot. In the second half of the year, Mianyang will also host the Sichuan International Cultural Tourism Festival, the Sichuan Tourism New Technology Application Conference, and participate in the organization of the Sichuan International Tourism Trade Fair.
